Smartphone (like iPhone & Android phones) are hugely popular all over the world. The tech news giant such as techcrunch.com, BGR reports various news versions of iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy and Amazon tablet everyday to catch people’s eyes before their competitors even all are based on speculation. Well, it can be also deduced by the revenue report revealed by Apple.inc. The Q2 revenue in 2011 shows iPhone 4 contributes most compared with iMAC and iPad. A new survey conducted by Comscore.com is a solid proof, too. It reveals some interesting facts:
1.       Compared with PC, mobile use grows rapidly.
2.       Mobile usage mainly come from smart phones(iPhone,  Android, Blackberry).
3.       Engagement increasing as mobile social usage become a daily activity.
And a cool idea come out of my mind. It’s a big opportunities for local business via mobile ads. If the mobile ads are relevant and attractive, people will take action instantly. Compared to pc ads, mobile ads is more real-time and geo-based. For example, if I was in a place not quite familiar, then ads with the local restaurant and shopping mall will cheer me up. However, when I booted my Pc, it normally is the time for work or rest before sleep. I check my email and feel nothing interesting about the promotions of several stores as it may end several days ago. Even I think it’s not expired, the distance may make me consider and lose the chance. Just imagine, you are on an airport, all the flight information shows on your mobile, will you feel more confident than the guy who almost lost mind for the flight delay.

We can see mobile usage will cover every connor of the local business and service. People can control everything with a smartphone on hand. Isn’t that cool? Then a question raises how to deliver this ads? People hate to be disturbed. Ads via SMS or MMS and such traditional way can offer people a lot information ignoring whether they need or not. Even the ads reaches to the targeted audience, it may still not work as it’s not the right time. And the privacy is also a big problem. The survey points out a cost-effective way to display ads :apps. It integrated a lot of features to make people’s life easy. With mobile facebook, twitter, you can interact and share cool things with your friends instantly. You can play angry birds any time you want. And certain app can show you the nearest address and map of restaurant, music center, theater, shopping mall and so on. You can easily access to the place you want to go with these apps. It meets your demand and also promote for those owners. Big bang!
