Google Trapped in Patent lawsuit by Apple Microsoft Oracle

Google vs Microsoft
Last year Oracle sued Google for the Android mobile operating technology infringe upon Oracle’s java patents. Then Apple began to put  HTC,Samsung, Motorola and such Android-based OEM on the court for patents infringement. To be worse, it’s not the end, it’s just the beginning.
Then, Google even lost the Nortel bidding for defensive use. Nortel’s 6000+ patents come into possession of Microsoft, Apple, RIM and Oracle. This is too bad for Google as google is nowhere compared with Apple’s 10000+ patents and Mecrosoft’s 20000+.

While Google’s SVP and Chief Legal Officer, David Drummond blogged to lash out at Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, and others for using “bogus patents” to attack their Android mobile platform and claim that they will try best to stop them. However, Microsoft’s head of communications, Frank Shaw, is firing back on twitter “We offered Google the opportunity to bid with us to buy the Novell patents; they said no.” More Twitters exposed to public:
“Why? BECAUSE they wanted to buy something that they could use to assert against someone else.” Which make the pissing match continues on public as well.

It’s easy to understand why Apple place lawsuit againest Android(google). Why Google is so annoyed at Microsoft over the Android case? Here is why. Although Android is open to all manufactures, it needs to pay much to Microsoft for licence of some technology. A report from Sina.com.cn shows, Microsoft gains 3 times revenue to licence HTC to use some technology on Andoid than it from its Wphone 7 for Q2. The reports quoted from Horae Dediu, an analyst from Statistic Analysis Company Asymco. He twitted that Microsoft launched 1.4 million Wphone-based phones, and each charges $15, which will bring it 21 million dollars on the Q2. At the same time, HTC have 12.1 million Android-based phones, and pay $5 to Microsoft and together 60 million.

There are many reports that IntelDigit will bid its 8800+ patents soon. This time, not only Google is interested. Samsung wants to join, too. What will Google do to fight against their powerful competitors, let’s wait to see.
