Chinese Android-Based Mobiles to Compete with iPhone

China is one of the fastest growing markets of tablets and smart phones with more than 900 million subscribers. According to Beijing-based research firm Analysys International, about 95 million smartphones are projected to be sold in the country this years.

Apple has dominated Chinese tablet and smartphone market proved by all sources. According to Techcrunch, Tim Cook , the new Apple CEO after Steve Jobs, confirmed that China contributed $3.8 billion in revenues in the Q3 and $8.8 billion in revenue in the fiscal year to date. That's huge. The passion for iPhone, iPad also spawn the hit of all types of clones for iPhone and iPad. That also explained why fake Apple stores exesit in the country. Apple has noticed the key role China plays and set up some strategy to
consolidate it. One is that a budget iPhone 5 will be launched in China to target the wide audience here. Moreover, it is widely reported that Apple partners Chinese third carrier-Telecom to reach more audience.
At the same time, Android supassed iOS and takes more than 40% market share in the world. But in China, different local variants of Android exesits, all are not big enough to compete with iOS.

Lenovo's LePhone: LePhone is a variant of Android that Chinese PC maker Lenovo introduced to help its smartphones stand out from the competition and fuel growth in its nascent mobile business. But it's been more than a year since launch and Lenovo said in its most recent quarterly earnings call that it shipped 81,000 LePads. It also said that it shipped 500,000 LePhone devices through the quarter finishing in March. These numbers are pretty low.

China Mobile's OPhone: This is another flavor of Android driven by a powerful player in the ecosystem, China's largest carrier China Mobile, which has 622 million subscribers.
